Alison Arrowsmith wins the 2014 June Lancaster Award winner to investigate midwifery in New Zealand.
Alison in New Zealand
This year’s June Lancaster Award-winner was Alison Arrowsmith, who travelled to New Zealand for her elective experience in midwifery.
Alison studied the use of both complementary therapies and home births and the ‘independent midwifery model’.
She also investigated the experience of women in both Maori and white culture, and the support of midwifery care practices in New Zealand.
